AT&T Announce 12 New Androids: Including 20 4G’s By End 2011

Since the Consumer Electronics Show at the start of this month, its been a job to keep up with constant news of up and coming mobile phones, TV’s, tablet’s, cameras and so on. Today its the turn of American carrier AT&T with an announcement that could possibly prick up the ears of its other competitors? As well as the Motorola Atrix 4G and HTC Inspire 4G on their way to us within the next few weeks, we can now give you yet more news.

It seems the most popular US telecommunications company is bringing more up and coming Android smartphones, in fact 12 of them, along with reports of 20 4G devices to arrive before the year is out. This ties in nicely with information we gave you at the start of this month, after an announcement was made from AT&T’s Mobility and Consumer Market’s Chief, saying the self same thing. The information via Softpedia, has stated that an internal document from AT&T has been sourced by Phandroid, which clearly states that the carrier will offer 2 of the 20 4G devices in the first quarter of 2011 with the rest to follow. As SlashGear quite rightly pointed out, it would be nice to see one of these devices with the inclusion of Windows Phone 7.

Also contained in the leaked document, is reference to a feature called “Simultaneous,” which will allow AT&T customers to not only talk on the web, but to have accessibility to jump from one website to another, check emails and send text messages from one to the other with the aid of “Mobile Broadband.”

So what will today’s news mean for the big red Verizon? We know that the iPhone 4 is set to release on the 10 February, so with the mention of 20 more AT&T phones on the way, will this stir the camp up as it were.

What are your thoughts on more AT&T devices coming in 2011? Are you waiting for the Atrix 4G or the Inspire 4G to come, or even Verizon’s iPhone 4? Let us know.
