PSP2: Next Generation Portable – Specs Released

Whilst we have been reporting on what the PSP2 or the NGP as it has been codenamed. It has seen a lot of rumors circulating about the device but today is the day of the Sony Tokyo event. The PSP2 has been unveiled and boy does it look good.

This is what we know about it so far, as was rumored it has a 3G, a 5” OLED touch-screen display at 960 x 544, front and rear facing cameras, front and touch-pads and as we predicted a new game media. It looks like Sony has listed to those that wanted to keep the UMD’s as they have brought in the miniature cartridges that look like an SD card with a curve!

We can also see that it’s not quite PS3 graphics but it’s extremely close and pretty amazing for a handheld device. The PSP2 will now have dual-analogue sticks for your gaming like on the PS3. Various games were shown with by far the most impressive being Metal Gear Solid.
