MWC 2011 Samsung Galaxy S2 / Tab 2: February 13

With the Consumer Electronics Show been and gone, our sights are now well and truly on what the Mobile World Congress next month will offer us. The event being held in Barcelona between the 14 – 17 February will give developers a chance to show off their latest tablets, smartphones amongst other devices.

Samsung one of the biggest electronics companies in the world has been a fairly big contender to Apple last year and judging by reports this year. The Galaxy Tablet positioned itself as a real competitor against the iPad and consequently Samsung’s Galaxy S range of smartphones was set to rival that of the iPhone 4. Whether we are a fan of one or the other, news has come in today of Samsung bringing not just one but two of these devices to the Barcelona event.

For a little while now, Samsung has been quiet as to what announcements will be made, but a report from Pocketlint via Ubergizmo today is preparing us for what likes to be an event on February 13, where both the next generation Galaxy Tab and smartphone will be presented. According to a document that has been seen online, the press event for this date lists both devices under “Product Presentations.”

Here at OSM we have been able to give you snippets of information surrounding both the tablet and phone and what we may expect to see. The Galaxy Tab 2 is rumored to be 7-inches in size including a Super-AMOLED display with Gorilla Glass, running on Android 2.3 Gingerbread, 3D display only after as Pocketlint stated the OS has been upgraded to Honeycomb, NVIDIA Tegra 2 chip, 2 cameras being 3MP front and 8MP back with 1080p video and dual LED flash.

On the other hand if its the S2 smartphone that takes your fancy, specifications may include 4.3-inch Super AMOLED display, a dual-core processor with 1GHz per core, 1GB RAM, 4GB ROM, NFC Chip, Bluetooth 3.0, WiFi, 8MP camera with LED flash along with HD video recording.
