Maingear eX-L 15 with Sandy Bridge: Could be world’s fastest

This next story contains a very big boast indeed but if indeed it’s true then its worth bragging about. In the last few months Maingear has already released 2 new laptops the Clutch-15 and the Alt-15 and now another 15.6-inch laptop is on its way.

This time it’s the turn of the eX-L 15 which will have a screen resolution of 1920×1280 and feature the new Sandy Bridge processor line with the Core i5 or Core i7. Darren Murph over on Engadget, sourced from Maingear, tells us the eX-L also has Nvidia GeForce GTX 485M GPUs, up to 16GB of DDR3-1333 memory, HDMI/ DVI outputs, a 2X Blu-ray reader and 2 USB 3.0 ports.

The starting price is $1,579 but I can hear you asking ‘so what was the boast.’ Well Maingear’s product page claims this is the “world’s most powerful 15.6-inch gaming notebook.” That’s some claim but judging from the specs it could well be. For more on this check out an article on Hot Hardware by Ray Willington who tells us the eX-L is available to customize now.

Tell us your thoughts on the eX-L? It’s certainly not cheap but does look very impressive and probably worth the money. Let us have your comments on this please.
