New Lumix ZS10, ZS8, FX78 and TS3 from Panasonic

We recently told you about the Fujifilm Finepix point-and-shoot cameras and now we hear that Panasonic has added another 4 new cameras to it’s Lumix range of point-and-shoots. These four new cameras have just been unveiled and they are the ZS10, ZS8, FX78 and TS3.

First off comes the DMC-ZS10 with 14-megapixels, 24mm ultra-wide angle, 1080p video recording and a 3-inch LED touchscreen. There’s also the 16x optical zoom Leica lens and a 3D Photo setting. Next up comes the DMC-ZS8 with similar specs but 720p video recording, according to Joanna Stern over on Engadget.

Moving on to the 12-megapixel DMC-FX78, this has Full HD, a Leica 24mm wide-angle lens, 3.5-inch Smart Touchscreen and also a 3D Photo mode. It will be released in black, gold and white versions. Last up is the DMC-TS3 with 12.1 megapixels and is about as robust as you can get as it’s waterproof, shockproof, freezeproof and dustproof. It’s also capable of 1080p video recording and again has the 3D setting and has a 28mm wide-angle Leica lens.

The release date for all of the above is March but no pricing is available yet. If you want to find out more along with the Panasonic press releases then check out the Engadget link above. Joshua Goldman over on Cnet has also written more about the ZS10 and ZS8 and speculates that the price for the ZS10 will be around $400 and the price of the ZS8 around $300. The specs on this new Lumix lineup seem pretty impressive to us but what do you think? Let us know with your comments.

I for one am stoked about the ZS10… 16x in my pocket, seriously!?!?! My ZS3 has been the perfect walkin around camera for when I don’t want to carry my DSLR, so I can’ wait for this upgrade. My only hope is that it gets here before my vacation at the end of March… you can pre-order now on Adorama too.
