Social Media Week In 2011: From London To NYC

Social Media Week 2011 is quickly approaching and for those of you unaware of the dates or what it’s about don’t worry, we will tell you about it. Social Media Week is hosted in several locations; these are Istanbul, Toronto, Hong Kong, Paris, San Francisco, Rome, Sao Paulo, London and New York.

Crowdcentric Media LLC are the owners and operators of Social Media Week, their official website is currently in development, however it does say that it will launch in January 2011 so keep checking back to see if it is available. Social Media Week’s debut was back in 2009 where they started out in New York City, it saw a few thousand people partaking in the events and thousands more online.

In 2010 Social Media Week expanded because of the sponsorship it had from a number of Global brands such as Motorola, PepsiCo and Vodafone. 2010 saw the event held in 6 cities including Los Angeles, Mexico City, Buenos Aires and Los Angeles all being added with New York. One year on and we are seeing another 3 major cities added to the list, these are Rome, Hong Kong and Paris. You can read more over at the Social Media Week about page.

The event kicks off on February 7th and runs through until February 11th. Each location sees a number of events; in London we will see more than 70 events across the city with the majority of them being free. You can view the Monday-Friday London Schedule here. Similarly you can view the New York schedule but bear in mind that the schedule is still being updated with new events daily. If you are in any of the other locations, head over to socialmediaweek.org, select your desired city by clicking on its name and then hit the schedule button below it. Last year there were live streams so keep an eye on OSM as we will update you on these when they are available.

There are a number of other areas on the socialmediaweek.org website such as blogs for each location; you can also keep up with them on Facebook, Twitter and also on their YouTube channel.
