LG Optimus 2X Release: Now out & coming in white

We’ve been following a lot of news about the LG Optimus 2X smartphone with such articles as speculated release dates, a sample of video taken with the phone and most recently a hands-on video look at the phone.

The LG Optimus 2X is set to be a popular Android handset and will be the first dual-core Tegra 2 smartphone to be released. There has been a certain amount of confusion over the release dates for different markets but Vlad Savov over on Engadget, sourced from IT Today, tells us that the Optimus 2X is now available in Korea and apparently the plans are that it should get to European markets before the end of the month.

Also available in February in Korea at least, will be a white version of the phone, just to make all those of you still waiting for a white iPhone 4 envious. Devina Devecha over on T3 also writes about the release of the LG Optimus 2X and points out as in our earlier release date article, some confusion about the release date in the U.K. The latest news seems to be that the phone will be released in the U.K. on March 18. There’s no news yet on when the phone will get to the North American market, if ever.

Are you one of those waiting eagerly for the LG Optimus 2X? Could you be tempted to the white version, which looks rather lovely? Why not let us know by sending us your comments.
