Sony Ericsson MT15i/Vivaz 2: MWC 2011 Unveiling?

We’ve recently been bringing you news on the Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc, the slimline Android phone that’s looking pretty impressive. However now we’ve heard of another Sony Ericsson phone, catchily dubbed the MT15i, or Vivaz 2.

According to Vlad Savov over on Engadget, sourced from mobile-review, this phone will be running on Android 2.3 Gingerbread and Russian mobile review Eldar Murtazin, has had a chance to give it the once-over. Murtazin’s preview had some good things to say about this as-yet unofficial handset with what he calls an above-average front-facing camera.

The handset also has a 1500mA/h battery, a Reality Display with 854 x 480 resolution, and 512MB of RAM, all run by a 1GHz Qualcomm MSM7630 processor. The performance was said to be smooth and it’s said to be aimed at the mid-range market. Murtazin also speculates on the phone being called the Vivaz 2 but Engadget have some doubts about that as this new device is Android rather than Symbian and has Xperia branding.

Meanwhile Kate Solomon over on TechRadar, reports that this new phone has also been dubbed by some as the Hallon and notes it has great potential as a mid-range phone. It seems likely that we’ll hear more about this phone (whatever it’s actually called) at MWC 2011 in Barcelona next month. What are your thoughts on this device?
