Today news of a new Playboy app on its way, is bound to set some of your hearts racing. Playboy founder Hugh Hefner has taken to social networking site Twitter to announce the latest iPad app. Once set up, subscribers will be able to access not only current magazine issues but past content as well.

The magazine which was founded back in 1953 is enjoyed by thousands of readers globally, and with the app’s arrival, it is hoped to attract not only established fans but that of a new generation. Issues range from the very first right through to the present day. In fact as Pocketlint reported, that’s 58 years worth of photographs of women, as well as offering published short stories, interviews from notable characters such as artists, film directors, composers, playwrights and so on.

In a Twitter announcement Hefner tweeted, “Big news! Playboy – both old & new – will be available on iPad beginning in March. Yes, all the back issues of Playboy will be available on iPad, & current issues as well, and that Playboy on iPad will be uncensored.

According to Mashable, the new iPad app will be available in March 2011, but it still begs the question how did the app manage to pass through Steve Jobs and his company Apple. In the past Jobs has made it apparent to everybody that porn would not be allowed on any of the devices. At this stage it is still unclear as to how much the app will cost.
