With years of speculation over and done with, and finally the Verizon iPhone 4 on its way next month, it begs the question of will other carriers follow suit and take on one of Apple’s biggest devices? According to today’s news the answer to this is possibly a yes, as carrier Sprint have announced a forthcoming event also in February.
Gary over at PR News via Network World has reported that Sprint’s event is due to take place on February 7 in which they will release details of future plans. Could this be one of them? As Gary quite rightly pointed out, in order for Sprint to achieve this, it would need to integrate 4G connectivity into the handset without changing the entire iPhone hardware.
Today’s news it seems has got people talking and thoughts are mixed. Some such as SlashGear as Gary reported, are suggesting that with the CDMA not being currently exclusive to Verizon, tech giants Apple make have a ploy to make as many of the handsets available on the market.
Presently February is looking to be a big month in terms of tech news. Not only have we the Verizon iPhone 4 to look forward to on the 10, but on the 7 Sprint may well be surprising us, and along with this, the Mobile World Congress will take off towards the end of the month.
