Facebook Email Address: Your Thoughts?

Facebook has now given you access to getting a @facebook.com email address, this is all to do with their ‘social inbox’. This is a different conversational solution produced by those thoughtful guys at Facebook.

It isn’t being marketed as an email system or an email killer, but as an alternative. This comes not long after the Facebook profile profiles had a change of layout. Perhaps this was the cause of the outage that Facebook users experienced that lasted for the majority of a day.

Anyway, onto the @facebook.com email addresses and their messaging system, we first started to hear reports about this back in November, going back we mentioned a little about the way that their messaging system is now but that has all changed if you go with the social inbox, which of course is a choice.

Facebook are giving out so much information on it to make sure you know what you are doing, going back to November 15th, there was a blog post written by Joel Seligstein. He talks about seamless messaging, conversational history and the social inbox; you can read all about it here. Over at their help centre you can read the top topics; this contains all of the questions that you may have for Facebook messaging.

If you want to bring the new messaging system to your Facebook, then head over to the messages page and then hit the request invitation. There’s a really good explanation of what this whole new system is about, which you can view at the bottom of this article on the video.

Once you have watched the video, tell us your thoughts on the Facebook Social Inbox and let us know if you will be getting a @facebook email address in the comments below.
