NOOK Color Overclocking to 950Mhz: Would You Try It?

Recently we have been looking a little at overclocking devices, the last one we reported on was the Nexus S, which had been overclocked to 1.4GHz. Now we have read through an article on overclocking a NOOK Color, we want to know if you would try it. Check out the original specs from the official Barnes & Noble website.

The potential for the NOOK Color has always been there, it’s just been a tad restricted or as Androidcommunity.com’ Chris Burns says in his article, there’s a lot of potential going to waste. Burns also says about how the device has had various hacks for ROMs, apps and all sorts but until now it hadn’t been overclocked.

Geniusdog254 is the XDA developer who has managed to get the device working overtime. The developer has managed to get the device overclocked to 950Mhz which is about as much as he could get out of it. According to Geniusdog254, even though the device has been overclocked, it is still stable. Head over to the XDA Forums and have a read of the overclocking process, if you want to do it you can gain all of the tools you need from there.

Would you go through the risk of overclocking your NOOK Color? Let us know your thoughts on this in the comments below.

I would love on, I’m very poor, but I love to read and only ever get a chance to at night when the kids are sleeping. I have to read in the dark most of the time. This would come in handy.
