iPhone 4 CDMA “iLuv” New Cases: Ready End January

On Tuesday of this week, came the big announcement that everybody had been hoping for, the iPhone 4 running on Verizon’s network. After weeks of rumor and what if’s, the handset will officially be launched on the 10 February 2011 with specifications and pricing structure put in place. But as well as a new device to look forward there will be differences between this new offering and that of the AT&T version.

As we reported in the week, the changes to the handsets include that of the repositioning of the buttons. On looking at recent photos of the two positioned next to each another, the CDMA antenna has been moved from the top to the side. Shortly after launching the Apple iPhone 4 in 2010, the company found issues surrounding the loss of reception and at times the phone completely switching off. Let’s hope this new offering will stop this, but now another problem has arisen, that of cases. The function of the phone will stay the same and will not be affected, but as PocketLint reported current iPhone 4 bumpers and cases will serve no purpose.

Cue the “iLuv” cases and protective films. Cases from the company vary from a leather design, metallic, clear, flex-gel and glow in the dark. Prices range from $19.99 for the latter case up to $49.99 for the leatherette lip case. As well as this, a sports armband will be available for $29.99 plus protective films including a glare-free version for $14.99 or a clear screen protector version for $12.99. Unfortunately all of these items will not be available until the end of January just in time for the official launch of the Verizon iPhone on the date above.

So with plenty of manufacturers working tirelessly to get these bumpers and cases ready what are your thoughts on this?
