Most Influential Social Good Champion: John Cena Wins

Californian based Yahoo! provides a whole host of services available on the world wide web. Best known for its web portal and search engine Yahoo! Search, it also offers, Yahoo! Maps, Video, News, Mail and so on. Today news is that of their collaboration with website Mashable.

Sponsors of Mashable Awards, Yahoo! are keen to get individuals working together in the community for the good of others. They believe that if everybody strives to listen to one another, and can find a way of channelling good positive things into the community then the world would be a better place. For the fourth year running, the award named “Most Influential Social Good Champion,” has looked at what the web has had to offer you, and what or whom has perhaps made the most difference to it. With results in, Yahoo! and Mashable were keen to announce the winner at their gala event on the 6 January. This year’s winner goes to World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) champion “John Cena.”

The star renowned in the wrestling world for winning fifteen championships as well as taking part in acting and rapping, has won the award for his outstanding work and involvement in charities such as “Kids Wish Network,” and “Make-A-Wish Foundation.”

With the celebrity star not being able to claim his award, Vice President of WWE Interactive Brian Kalionowski took it on his behalf and added, “John, as you may know, is a phenomenal philanthropist. He’s one of the few honorary people with Make a Wish, he’s an ambassador with Make a Wish, and … he just granted his [200th] wish this year. It’s a huge honour for us to be associated with John, and I know he’s thrilled to partake in what he does online to help the social program. We’re thrilled, and on behalf of John and his 4 million fans on Facebook (Facebook), thank you all very much.”
