Facebook: Has It Taken Over Our Lives?

Do you make up one of the 500,000,000 users currently on Facebook? The answer to that is probably yes. According to recent statistics one in 13 of us is a user to the social networking site, 3 out of 4 Americans and one out of 26 regularly signs on daily. High figures you would agree, so this begs the question has the networking site taken over our everyday lives?

The guys over at Mashable have been asking the self same question and with some pretty interesting results from SocialHype and OnlineSchools.org for last year, have put them into a infographic for you. They vary from your relationship status to event invites, messages sent, friend requests accepted, wall posts and so on.

Some interesting facts that have come out of the results include 48% of 18 to 34 year olds check their Facebook as soon as they wake up. Interestingly enough 48% of young Americans find out the news via Facebook, 750 million uploaded photos were sent to the site just on New Year’s weekend.
