Twitter: Tweet From Your Mobile Device – Adding to the 40%

So far the CES 2011 event has had a lot of press around cameras, TVs, and various other devices, the majority of them have been mobile tablet PCs. Have you ever wondered how many Twitter Tweets come from mobile devices?

2011 is set to be a big year for the tablet PC and many other mobile units too. Already in 2010 we have seen the rejuvenation of the tablet PC market. This is mainly down to Apple’s ability to add a product into a dead market like that of the tablet PC and turn it into a profitable one.

Twitter CEO Dick Costolo was at CES 2011 and he has told the world that 40% of ‘Tweets’ come from mobile devices. This is up from 20% to 25% of around a year ago, which means it has basically doubled through 2010. This being the case, it looks like Twitter is going to have a good year, especially when you consider the expected projections of growth for the tablet PC market.
