Ford mobile app for new all-electric Focus – plus video

Earlier today we told you about a revamped Mercedes mbrace app due out in February. Now we hear that Ford’s new all-electric car has been unveiled at CES 2011 and that it will have its own version of the MyFord mobile app.

Jolie O’Dell over on Mashable reports on a hands-on look at the app designed for the Ford Focus Electric car due to arrive late in 2011. You can see a video of how the app works below this story. The app will allow users to locate charging stations and check the vehicle’s charge status.

Users will also be able to plan trips and use remote control access to lock and unlock doors and also control in-car climate. Owners of the new all-electric car will also be able to share their experiences of environmentally-friendly travel on Facebook and Twitter and the app will be available for most smartphone platforms.
