CES 2011: Kodak PlaySport 2 – Pictures and Features

CES 2011 has seen many devices pass through its doors. We have recently reported that the Motorola Xoom has been voted the ‘Best In Show’. We have also reported on a few other cameras including the Samsung HMX-H300 aimed at the average consumer, and a high end camera from JVC, both of which have video recording.

Now we are bringing you one of the biggest names in the photography and video recording, Kodak. They have brought something to CES that is pretty cool; it’s called the PlaySport 2. As we know Kodak has always been successful and now they are pushing their new line of handheld camcorders, there’s no reason to think they won’t continue their success.

The device has a shockproof case from 1.5 meters and is waterproof for up to 3 meters in depth. As Dylan Bailey of slashgear.com says, the device is heavily aimed at allowing the users to upload their visual memories to their popular social networking sites and email. The handheld camera will set you back $179.99 and will ship in spring.

We have included a couple of images but to see more of them, we would recommend that you visit Slashgear where they have added a hands on review. We would also like to direct you towards digitalcamerareview.com where Allison Johnson has summed up the cameras from both Kodak and Samsung.

What do you think of the camera? Do you think it’s worth the money? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
