CES 2011: Android Honeycomb – Motorola Xoom Voted Best In Show

Motorola certainly did well in the build up for CES 2011, if you think back to just before it kicked off, they released their fantastic tablet PC video featured at the bottom of our article. The video hinted at the fact they were going to be bringing their own tablet PC to the table, except they wouldn’t be doing it alone.

They partnered with Android to run their Honeycomb 3.0 OS, which has been optimized for the tablet PCs. According to Slashgear’s Dylan Bailey, the Motorola Xoom has fought off the competition of the abundance of tablet PCs and has been awarded ‘Best In Show’ which many of us saw coming.

We have done various reports on the Android based Xoom tablet, some that proved to be pretty popular were the Android 3.0 Honeycomb preview video entry and the hands on, both articles were by OSM’s Debbie Turner.

Some of the superb specs within the Motorola casing include the dual-core Tegra 2 processor, 10” display, front and back facing cameras and an HDMI port. All of this coupled with the fact that it will have access to Verizon’s super-fast 4G LTE network!

So its official, the Motorola Xoom was the top tog at CES 2011. Do you agree with that? Is there another device that you think could have run closely with the Xoom? Let us know in the comments below.
