Samsung Galaxy Tab 4G Verizon LTE upgrade plus more

At CES 2011 everything is happening at the moment with news of new products galore. We’ve just posted an article about the Verizon announcement at the event and one of the things mentioned was about the Samsung Galaxy Tab but we want to give you a bit more information on that now.

Although we’re seeing a plethora of new tablets coming out of CES many people are already fans of the Samsung Galaxy Tab which was really the first major contender to the Apple iPad. Now there’s great news for those using the Verizon 4G network as today Samsung has announced a 4G-LTE enabled Galaxy Tab, exclusive to Verizon, according to Eric Franklin over on Cnet.

The upgraded Galaxy Tab will also bring other features such as a boost to the Cortex A8 Hummingbird processor from 1GHz to 1.2GHz along with a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera instead of the current 3-megapixel camera. An article by Michael Oryl over on Mobile Burn says that the release date is likely to be within the next 6 months but the price has not yet been released.

Oryl also reports that Marni Walden, Verizon vice president and chief marketing officer, said “The 4G LTE-enabled Galaxy Tab takes full advantage of Android 2.2 to deliver a blazingly fast experience for customers. The 4G LTE-Samsung Galaxy Tab pairs Samsung’s advanced technology with the power of Verizon Wireless 4G LTE, so that customers can leap into the future of the mobile multimedia experience.” Are you a Verizon Wireless customer and also a Samsung Galaxy Tab fan?
