Kindle App For Windows 7 Available: Including 2 New Features

Amazon’s e-book reader the Kindle has proved to be a smash hit since its debut just before Christmas. Offering the user the accessibility to shop for, browse and then download a whole host of book titles, magazines, newspapers and so on, the user will then be able to read the content on the light and portable device.

Only yesterday Debbie here at OSM reported on news that Microsoft and Google may possibly be enjoying the Kindle app on their own OS, and although the news stated that the introduction was imminent we didn’t have a date. Today as Mashable reported, we can now bring you a complete turnaround in news. For an announcement has been made that Windows Phone devices will now get the desired app available from the Windows Phone Marketplace, complete with not just the standard features on all other Kindle apps but two additional ones.

The two to look forward to will include a personalized shopping recommendation feature and the second is the opportunity to now send your favorite book recommendations to your friends. As PCMag.com stated, with the Kindle e-reader software already available on platforms and devices such as the iPod Touch, iPhone, iPad, BlackBerry and so on, it makes sense to introduce it to two of the biggest up and coming names in the tech world.

So with the Consumer Electronics Show about to get underway, what will this news mean for those forthcoming tablet devices rumored to be making their way to the event? We will have to wait and see.

What do you make of the Kindle app’s introduction to Windows 7? Let us know.
