Zuckerberg now worth £9 billion: Fortune doubles overnight

Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook CEO, had one heck of a 2010 being named as TIME Person of the Year and Facebook continues to go from strength-to-strength with news yesterday that it was to receive $500 million of investment, the majority coming from Goldman Sachs, and today we learned of a record number of photos uploaded on Facebook over the New Year.

So how could 2011 get better for Zuckerberg? Well perhaps the news that his personal fortune now adds up to £9 billion could do it. According to a report today on The Financial Express, that’s how much Zuckerberg is now worth after the investment pumped into Facebook saw his own fortune double.

Zuckerberg owns a quarter of shares in Facebook and this growth, according to the Daily Mail, saw him shoot into the top 40 on the Forbes list of billionaires whereas previously he was in 212th position on the list. It also means that Facebook is now valued at £32 billion. To read more about Mark Zuckerberg’s personal wealth check out an article by Martin Fricker over on mirror.co.uk.
