Toyota launch Entune multimedia system: CES 2011

Just a few days ago we brought you news of a new SYNC Destinations App from Ford and now we have news from CES 2011 that Toyota is to offer its own in-car multimedia system going by the name of Entune.

Darren Murph over on Engadget brings us this news about the infotainment system which could be released later this year on certain models and is aimed to give you everything you want when travelling in a car, apart from actually driving the car itself. Entune will offer Bluetooth, mobile apps, such as Bing, OpenTable and Pandora, and will also replay and read back text messages.

Other features will include services such as fuel prices, personalized traffic and weather and Entune will work with voice commands and in-vehicle controls. Entertainment aspects include HD Radio and CD player and firmware upgrades will be via OTA updates. We find it very difficult indeed to think of anything to make life easier that the Toyota Entune system hasn’t already thought of!
