Spriiing Smile release: Low-end Android phone – but looks great

We like to share information with all of our readers about new devices and our attention has been drawn to a new Android phone which is a real global effort, and which you may one day see wherever you are. The device has been described as low-end but it looks great so we thought we’d share it with you.

This new QWERTY phone comes from Spriiing Design of Thailand but was apparently designed in Sweden and manufactured in China and is being released in Thailand this month and is also on sale in Australia, according to Chris Ziegler over on Engadget, sourced from Spriiing. It runs on Android 2.1 and has a 3-megapixel camera with 512MB of ROM and 256MB of RAM. It features a 2.6-inch QVGA display and has a 528MHz Qualcomm MSM7225 core.

Ok so it’s not exactly high-end but you have to say from the photos in this story it does look good. More details on it can be found in an article by Shane McGlaun over on Android Community and you can also check out the product webpage here.

What are your thoughts on this new Android smartphone? We’d be interested to know so why not send us your comments.
