Samsung SH100: WiFi Digital Camera – Can Link To Smartphones

Are you looking forward to CES 2011? Well it’s not too far away and the reports of different devices that will be appearing at the event this year just keep on coming. We have reported on quite a few items, so check them all out by clicking here.

Something that has really caught the eye of OSM is the Samsung SH100 WiFi enabled digital camera. Now it sounds like a crazy concoction of different technology, but it really does make sense. We can’t think of another device on the market today like it.

Seeing as cameras on smartphones are getting better and better, Samsung had to come up with something that stands out from the crowd. The camera can automatically send a picture to your PC over a WiFi connection and it can instantly upload pictures and video clips to social networking sites such as Facebook. Perhaps the most impressive feature of all is the ability to control the shutter mechanism using a smartphone, effectively turning your phone into a digital camera remote control.

The camera also has a 14.2 megapixel sensor and a 4.7 lens, these are normal specs but the overall functional concept deployed by Samsung is brilliant. The device will be available in March and will typically retail for around the $200 marker.
