The Last Trends Of 2010: Twitter’s Hottest

With 2011 now here, it is time to have a look at what the final trends of 2010 were. Last week we had Christmas as our top trend and now we are bringing you the final list of hot topics, thanks to Mashable.

Christmas has the honour of being the final top trend of the year and keeps its place at number 1 this week. Festive cheer was continually spread around the microblogging service and the NORAD Santa tracker was a big talking point after the team worked with Google again this year. The AFF Suzuki Cup was the 2nd trend, with the football tournament being held in Indonesia and Vietnam. Malaysia beat Indonesia and it attracted alot of attention.

Trend number 3 this Teena Marie who tragically passed away recently at the age of 54. People remembered the R&B singer by celebrating to some of her most popular songs. The NFL is the 4th most talked out topic, with Stephen McGee receiving attention because he lead the Dallas Cowboys back from a large deficit against the Arizona Cardinals. The Cowboys lost out in the end with a crucial extra point wasted.

The Raz B and Chris Brown feud is at 5, with Raz starting an argument between Brown and Eric Benet over Rihanna and Halle Berry. Chris Brown replied with a few homophobic remarks and then apologised. At 6 the 84 year old founder of Playboy enterprises, Hugh Hefner, recently announced his engagement to his 24 year old girlfriend and playmate Crystal Harris. The People has reported that this took place on Christmas Eve and it was not in the traditional, down on one knee style.

Holy Innocents’ Day is the 7th trend in the chart and is celebrated on the 28th November in Spain and some Latin American countries. The day is to remember the lives of male children who were massacred; the day is similar to April fools day and pranks are typically played. TVXQ is at number 8, after fans celebrated 7 years since the Korean band was formed.

Trend number 9 is the Twilight Movie because people in Brazil are complaining about the dubbed version of the film. The character Edward Cullen’s had his name changed to “Eduardo,”and Alice Cullen was changed to “Élice”. The NBA completes the final chart of 2010, due the LA Lakers playing and losing to the San Antonio Spurs; however people continued to complain about and point fun at LeBron James.
