New Vizio Theater 3D HDTV’s: Entire line to be offered

We’ve recently posted articles about a Vizio tablet device and phone expected to be shown at CES 2011 and also told how the company planned to reveal a Google TV product at CES and now we hear news that Vizio plans to massively extend its Theater 3D HDTV line.

Presently only a 65-inch Vizio 3D TV has been available with passive glasses but now Vizio plans 21 models in the Theater 3D lineup according to Richard Lawler over on Engadget, sourced from Vizio. There will also be a huge choice of sizes from 22-inch right through to a 71-inch model, all coming with passive glasses. The new models include 2 new Google TV models, LED edge lit LCD’s and LED backlit versions.

You can see a Vizio press release over on the Engadget article link above and Vizio claims “Brighter, Flicker-Free 3D with Superior Performance for Everyone.” The Theater 3D eyewear is lightweight and battery free making them more comfortable for the wearer and up to 4 pairs of the glasses will be included depending on the model type purchased.

There’s not yet confirmation of prices or release dates but if you join the mailing list on vizio.com you’ll be able to receive product information as it’s released. What are your thoughts on this new Vizio Theater 3D lineup? Why not send us your comments on this.
