Nintendo 3DS: Advisory Posted For Kids Eyesight

We have already reported release dates for the Nintendo 3DS but ahead of its release, Nintendo have posted something on their Japanese site that looks like an advisory notice for the console.

You may, or may not know that children under the age of 6, their eyes are not fully developed. The advisory that Nintendo are giving is that for young kids like this to push the 2D gaming option on the console as oppose to the 3D.

According to CNET.com’s Edward Moyer, the advisory is also aimed at adults and teens that plan to get the console. Nintendo say that they advise taking a break after 30 minutes when playing in 3D and if you start to feel ill, then you should stop. The normal advisory for a 2D gaming system is that you take a break after an hour; obviously the 3D experience is intense on your eyes.

A fantastic addition from Nintendo adding the 2D option to the 3DS as it broadens their target market. If there was only the option of 3D then they may suffer in sales if their advisory is anything to go by, but Nintendo has cleverly accounted for these cases.

What do you think of the 3DS console? Are you looking forward to its release? Let us know in the comments below.
