The Apple iPad 2 has had more than its fair share of rumors, spanning from possible release dates to expected specs. Now we have heard another rumor that the iPad 2 will feature a dual-core processor. The same whispers are circulating for the iPhone 5. Apple did the same between the iPad and iPhone 4, so why not?
A dual-core processor for the iPad 2 would make sense, especially when you think about some of the competitors such as the BlackBerry PlayBook, Motorola tablet PC and the new Android OS running Honeycomb 3.0.
The expected Apple products will no doubt be a success if their predecessors are anything to go by. The thought of an Apple mobile device with a processor of that strength is more than impressive, although it leaves several questions in our minds, one of them is; If the iPad 2 has a dual-core processor, how will it affect the battery life?
Something we were hoping for with the new iPad, but we are probably too far ahead of ourselves, is 2 front facing cameras to try and make use of the technology shown in the Kinect. If you would like to read more about the rumors then head over to CNET and Redmond Pie.
Bearing in mind that all of this is still speculation, what is your opinion on the matter? Do you think the iPhone 5 and the iPad 2 will get dual-core processors? Let us know in the comments below.
