Samsung Fascinate / Vibrant Get Android 2.2 Update In Canada

Samsung has had a very successful year, especially with the Galaxy S phone and Galaxy Tab. Samsung’s tablet has managed to establish a foothold in the tablet PC market. It is partly because of this, that there is an added confidence that has been installed into all Samsung devices.

We are hearing reports that the Samsung Fascinate and Vibrant cell phones are getting the Android 2.2 update. The news stemmed from the official Samsung website showing the 2.2 upgrade procedures for the Galaxy S and Vibrant on Virgin Mobile and SaskTel. You can read that here. Head over and click on the “Open” links to see the full content, it shows full instructions on how to perform the upgrade.

This means that when Evan Selleck of Slashgear.com published his article, he was right, in Canada anyway. You may be wondering what the update will do. It will give you faster performance for web pages and device processing, Adobe Flash Player 10.1 and an enhanced exchange that features new levels of security, for a full list of the 2.2 benefits click here. Chris Ziegler of Engadget also points out, those owners of the Telus Fascinate originally would have had to wait until the New Year for the 2.2 update, pretty cool that they have released it early.

How much do you think the updates will improve the features of these phones? Going forward do you think they will receive 3.0 Honeycomb? Let us know your thoughts on this in the comments below.
