Playstation Phone Set To Release April 2011?

Over the last couple of months, news including videos about the forthcoming Playstation Phone has been heavily talked about, from what the official name will be through to when we can finally get our hands on one of these? Despite various reports being thrown around, today indications are showing that the month of April is looking like a pretty big contender.

On December 9, as Debbie reported here at OSM, there seemed to be conflicting reports on when the device was due for launch? Some thought that it would have been this month at a launch in Paris, but unfortunately with just a few days until the end of 2010, the likelihood of this is fading fast. According to the guys over at T3 via Pocket lint, inside sources are saying, Sony’s offering of the PSP also known as the Ericsson Z1, will no doubt be released after the big event at the Mobile World Congress, being held in Spain’s Capital of Barcelona in February.

Apparently the source whom at this stage has not been named has said, “Sony Ericsson is going big on this one, although it will get a Feb launch, it won’t be in shops until April.” As with all up and coming devices it will no doubt be met with positive and negative vibes. Techradar.com has spoken to many within the gaming world who despite airing good feedback still have their doubts.

In a world they feel where gaming is becoming increasingly more popular, will the line between mobile and console gaming be stretched to its limitations. On saying this, it was stated that even if the new concept fails, the evolution of portable gaming would have taken a turn for the better.
