UK Nexus S release delayed to December 22

In the U.K. the release of Google’s Nexus S phone has been hotly anticipated and we first gave you pre-order details for the release on December 20 and then also informed you of a Carphone Warehouse offer for the Android 2.3 Gingerbread device.

However we now have news from Vlad Savov over on Engadget who informs us that the release of the Nexus S has been delayed until December 22. That’s not too long to wait but we know how annoying that is if you’ve been waiting to get your hands on this much-talked about device. The postponement is apparently because of limited supplies but don’t rush out to any old store on the 22nd as it will only be available from ‘key’ stores.

You can order online and the phone will be shipped immediately on release to a Carphone Warehouse near you for collection and the unlocked price has been confirmed as £429.99. The phone will also be available at Best Buy UK outlets. Hit the links if you want to order the Nexus S online through bestbuy.co.uk here or from carphonewarehouse.com here.

Are you waiting for the Samsung Nexus or have you pre-ordered it? We’d be interested to hear when you finally get your hands on it so please do send us your comments.
