Foursquare 3.0 Update: Includes Photos & Comments

Here at OSM we are constantly keeping you up to date with the latest goings on, and today it’s the turn of location-based site Foursquare. On the 17 December we gave you information on the site updating it’s iPhone app to version 3.0, enabling users to experience a more personal feel. Foursquare will recommend past places that you may have already checked into, along with an idea of what you can hope to do.

Today news, is now adding to this, in the form of photos and comment sharing. For those of you using an Android handset can expect to see the new version this week, but unfortunately BlackBerry and Palm Web OS users will have to wait until the new year.

When Mashable looked into this, the new update will now allow you to attach photos to places of checkin, add comments to your friends checkins plus tips and venues of possible interest, all of which will be logged onto your own history page.

On check-in, you will be asked to add a photo, tip or comment that ties in with where you have just been, and along with this, photo information will be kept accessible to your main Foursquare friends and social networks you share. On the other hand, you will have peace of mind, that comment activity can only be seen via immediate friends. Judging by comments from the location-based site, there is a lot more to look forward to in the near future. As the Washington Post.com reported, “Alex Rainert” Foursquare’s Head of Product said, “It’s giving people more reasons to hop in and out of the app. We might see more activity on the web site now.”
