Panasonic VIERA TH-L42G3 HDTV: Includes SDXC Card

Panasonic has just released it’s latest addition to the VIERA range, the TH-L42G3. Now with HDTV’s in every shop window, it takes something different to make one stand out from the rest.

While we have already seen memory card slots attached to TV’s before, Panasonic has decided to give it’s newest set an SDXC memory card reader. Ubergizmo say that with the normal card slot, users can view whatever is saved on to the inserted card. But with SDXC you will be able to record HD television programmes and store them on the card for later viewing. Up to 5 hours of full HD recording can be kept on a 64GB card.

There is a minor downside to this capability however, whatever is recorded on the memory card can only be played on your VIERA TV. Along with two HDMI ports, Ethernet port, VIERA LINK and DLNA support, the TH can also access an external hard drive form it’s USB input if you needed extra storage.

As Crunchgear confirm, for your $1,800, the TH L42G3 packs a 42-inch IPS LED-backlit HD display, and is set to hit Japan by January 18. Tell us if the ability to record HD on a memory card would suit your requirements?
