Android 2.3 On Verizon: A Waiting Game?

If you are a Verizon subscriber, then you will be pleased to hear that there are rumors of Google software updates to Android 2.3 Gingerbread. This is according to a leaked internal memo sourced from Droid Life.

Alan over at PR News reminds us that although exclusively offered on T-Mobile, the Samsung Nexus S is the only device to offer pre-loaded Gingerbread, much to the disappointment of Verizon users. However, with this recent news it looks very much like a range of handsets including Motorola’s Droid will also definitely have the option of the Android update.

As of yet there is no sign as to when this will happen. As Electronista reported, the new Android 2.3 update will bring with it plenty of new features including a simpler copy and paste text service, multi-touch keyboard and much more.
