Checking Your Facebook? Now You Can Spend A Little At JCPenney

Massive retailer JCPenney has teamed up with the equally massive social network Facebook, which now allows users to buy from the site while they browse their account.

Now that JCPenney has thrown an online shop into the Facebook mix, members can also tell their friends about certain products and “like” them as well. Many online retailers now have a level of Facebook integration where products can be “liked” and commented on, with JCPenney being one of them. According to Mashable the retailer has 1.3 million fans and as a result of this the integration has been taken a new level.

Elsewhere, Warc believes that the shopping and social networking partnership will continue to grow, with plenty more retailers getting on board with the integration. Not all sites are doing it this way, as electronics giant Best Buy are directing users to their own site for transactions; however are still making their online inventory available for comments and search.

Social Shopping looks to be an increasingly popular online trend, as it is a good way of getting the opinion of other people before buying something, as well as being a big indicator of what products are the most popular.
