Gift Plan App for iPhone: Making gifting enjoyable

Shopping for the holiday season is now in full swing and although giving gifts is enjoyable once you’ve got them, sometimes the effort involved in compiling lists, trying to think of the right gift, and keeping on top of which occasions you have coming up, makes it all a little bit too much of a chore.

However there’s a new iPhone app available called Gift Plan which aims to take the strain out of gifting and you can get it for $1.99 at the iTunes App Store. Alan Henry over on AppScout tells us more about Gift Plan and one useful feature is that users can import contacts along with occasions such as birthdays and anniversaries from your iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad. The app will not only remind you when an occasion is coming up and build profiles with people which will eventually help out with gift suggestions.

Users can also import Facebook contacts onto the app and for each person’s profile you can add useful information such as clothing sizes, their hobbies and activities, and personal taste. The “shopping” icon will then come up with some ideas for gifts from the information you’ve provided about that person. There’s also a review of Gift Plan available over on Appolicious by Kathryn Swartz which it has to be said is rather mixed. Although the review praised the design of the app and other features, Swartz noted that on adding new contacts it sometimes crashed.

For $1.99 though it looks to be worth paying for in our opinion but we’d like to know your thoughts on this. Have you already got the Gift Plan App? If so have you had any problems or do you find it invaluable? Why not send us your comments to let us know.
