Notion Ink Adam: Pre-order and Price Update

Since the success of the Apple iPad tablet device there’s been a slew of new devices announced over the last month or so. The Samsung Galaxy Tab appeared in stores and in the New Year there are more tablet devices from Acer on the way along with the much-vaunted BlackBerry PlayBook tablet from RIM also coming out early next year.

There is news today of another tablet device though which is available for pre-order from today from Notion Ink. It’s the Notion Ink Adam tablet and pre-orders begin today at 1:30 pm EST, according to Chris Davies over on SlashGear. That time is for Notion Ink existing commenter’s with pre-orders for others beginning at 7:30 pm EST.

The prices have also been cut since earlier details were released and the entry level LCD Wi-Fi Adam is now $375.33. The 3G version will be $425.33. Prices for other models are available at the Slashgear link above. Many people had thought the Adam would have an NFC sensor but that is not the case and it will also ship with Android 2.2 instead of Android 2.3 Gingerbread as first thought, although some elements from Gingerbread will be integrated.

Actual shipping dates have not yet been released but the pre-order news is what many people have been waiting for. If you check out this Notion Ink link you will find detailed further information about this desirable tablet with full specs and all those previous commenter’s who qualify for early-pre-ordering will be sent an e-mail from Notion Ink with a pre-order link remaining active for 6 hours.

Are you intending to purchase the Adam tablet and if so what do you think puts this above the other tablet devices on the market, or soon to be released? We’d welcome your comments on this.
