More multimedia content for Twitter: 5 new services

The growth of Twitter has been nothing but phenomenal and another area where it seems to be expanding is in multimedia content. Already Twitter users were able to access YouTube, Flickr, Ustream and iTunes but multimedia content will now grow to 20 services.

The five new services, according to Lauren Indvik over on Mashable, are, Instagram, SlideShare, Rdio and Dipdive, as announced in a blogpost from Twitter. All of these sites will now be able to be accessed within and Twitter also pledges even more multimedia content soon. The new services available have been outlined by Twitter to give users some idea of what to expect.

On for instance there will be access to over 50,000 Web TV shows. The Rdio service is a great innovation as users will be able to play full-length songs right from the details pane of Twitter while SlideShare offers Twitter users the ability to share and read presentations. Electronista also gives some details of these new Twitter in-line media services and notes that Instagram, to view mobile photos, will be available on a platform other than its iOS app for the first time.
