Google Chrome Web Store: Selection of best apps

Since the Google live event yesterday everybody’s been talking about the Google Chrome OS along with the new Google laptop and the news that a lot of people had been waiting for, a Google Chrome Web Store. We also gave a comparison earlier today on Chrome vs Android vs Windows 7 and our latest piece of news was the partnership between Google and Verizon for free 3G data.

We know how many of you were hoping for the Chrome Web App Store and so we thought it would be worth taking a closer look at some of the hundreds of apps already available. Christina Warren over on Mashable has picked out 10 Chrome web apps worth exploring. One of these is Sports Illustrated Snapshot which selects great new high-speed sports photographs daily and also allows users to purchase photos from archives.

Another one mentioned is Graphic.ly which shows comics synched across devices and also enables users to download free material and view comic previews. See all of the top 10 selection at the Mashable link above. Whitson Gordon and Adam Dachis over on Lifehacker have also chosen 5 of the best Chrome web apps now available, 3 of which were also chosen by Mashable. The other 2 apps chosen by Lifehacker are Aviary which is likened to Photoshop in a web browser and Write Space which is a writing tool.

Why not check out these apps to see what you like or maybe you’ve already seen another app which you feel is worth a mention? Why not let us know by sending us your comments about Chrome web apps.
