Wikileaks Not Banned From Facebook: No Violation

The whole Wikileaks saga does not want to go away, and for a site that thought that the world was against it would have been happy that Twitter was on its side. We do not know for how long, but we can also report that Facebook is not ready to ban their page just yet.

Having two of the biggest social networking sites, as your ally must be something that governments did not count on – but how much longer will they offer their support? However, this could be a short lived arrangement, as CSMonitor reports that WikiLeaks’ Julian Assange has been arrested for rape charges in London, which might just put an end to support from both network services.

This will now make things worse for not only Assange, but governments around the world, as there could be a fear that more material could leak out – not on Wikileaks, as the website is still down. This could play in the U.S. government’s hands, who wants to take legal action against Julian.

Gong back to Facebook, Economic Times has reported that Facebook says that the Wikileaks Facebook Page is not in violation of their content standards – not sure if others would see it like that. Over the past few weeks it has been hard to keep up with the goings on, visit our Wikileaks tag to keep up-to-date with all that has gone on.
