Tumblr back up and running soon: No lost blogs?

Earlier today we brought you the news that Tumblr, the popular microblogging site was down and the latest information from the site and on Twitter was that it was working quickly to recover from the issue. We had a big response from readers who were really worried they were going to lose their blogs and data but there is a piece of good news.

Brenna Ehrlich over on Mashable recently posted news that Tumblr is about to come back shortly and the latest tweet from the company reads, “The recovering database cluster is online and healthy. We’re incrementally opening up access to blogs while monitoring performance.” She also reports that her own Tumblr blog is intact which is promising news for many of you who have been concerned.

Dan Frommer on Business Insider earlier today had wondered if everything on Tumblr would be lost and the prompt response from Tumblr President John Maloney was, “That’s ridiculous.” However the news that the service should be available again very shortly has not appeased many who are outraged at the outage that lasted over 24 hours. An article over on Allvoices takes a look at some of the tweets of fury and it makes interesting reading.

Let us know when you find Tumblr back up and running again and of course we’d like everybody’s information to be intact so please send us your comments to tell us of your Tumblr experience.
