PlayStation Phone: Spotted running Gingerbread

Here at OSM we’ve been reporting on the rumors surrounding the new Sony Ericsson PlayStation Phone. The initial news we had was that it may be released in February but more recently we reported on news of a special event on December 9 where it may be revealed.

Now news from Vlad Savov over on Engadget, sourced from Techblog.gr, tells us that the PlayStation Phone could well have been spotted, in Greece of all places. We’ve not seen a video of the device before but you can see it over on Engadget and from what Savov says, it looks to be pretty convincing that it is indeed the PlayStation Phone.

Designed to be part Android smartphone and part gaming console the Sony Ericsson PlayStation Phone, here dubbed the Sony Ericsson Z1, appears to be running on Android Gingerbread and has a 4-inch screen. Previously it’s also been speculated that the PlayStation Phone will have a 1GHz Snapdragon processor along with a 5-megapixel camera.

It will soon be December 9 so we’ll find out if the earlier stories about that being the release date were accurate. For more on this go to engadget.com. We’d like to know your thoughts on the PlayStation Phone so why not send us your comments.
