New “share” button introduced to LinkedIn

Users of LinkedIn will be pleased to hear that a new share button has been added to the site so that publishers can spread their content around. The business orientated site now enables users to easily share information around with their professional network.

In order to get the share button, all you have to do is visit the publishers page and copy and paste a few lines of code which can be found on LinkedIn’s page. You have the choice of 3 options which are: vertical with a share counter, horizontal button with the counter, or a horizontal button with no counter. You can see what the buttons look like by paying Mashable a visit.

A few months back, LinkedIn launched a few new sharing options, which make it simpler for users to attach links to status updates, with the ability to re-share links as well as edit and delete posts. With the introduction of the new share button, LinkedIn is matching Facebook when it comes to content sharing options. There is plenty of rivalry out there as many other social networks such as Twitter, Facebook and Digg already have share buttons. It just depends on whether LinkedIn has enough sharing users to make it worthwhile having the button.

If you are a LinkedIn user then tell us if you are going to get the share button. If you decide to then also say if it is beneficial and a worthy tool to have.
