Toshiba’s New Battery-Powered ‘Power TV’

With the huge explosion of 3D TV’s springing onto the market, what can manufacturers do to stand out from the crowd? Well, Toshiba think that they have come up with something a little different, the new Battery-Powered “Power TV?”

What, you are thinking, did I hear this correctly? Yes, you did. The tech giants have now introduced a 32” or 42” LED TV with a rechargeable battery which will power the set for a good two hours, even after say, your house suffers from a power cut. Viewers will still be able to watch their favorite programmes without the worry of bad signal problems as the set is fitted with an “auto signal booster” and “auto view” to aid viewing in different light conditions. As Thomas Ricker at Engadget reported, the PC1 range, one of three in the series, will be one of the first TV’s to incorporate a rechargeable battery.

News from today, also includes that of Toshiba revealing their new 55” 55ZL800 3D LED range topper TV, as well as slimmer 46” and 55” models.

So this brings us to ask the question, if battery powered as a back up, obviously you will be able to watch the TV in the event of loss of mains power, what will you be watching because all your other devices i.e, PS3, Blu-Ray, DVD etc will have no power?
