Sprint and Clearwire WiMAX Coverage Expanded

Sprint and Clearwire’s internet partnership is today launching WiMAX in Los Angeles and 5 other states a day ahead of schedule.

According to reports from Engadget, the 4G network has now be expanded to Washington DC, Cleveland, Miami, Cincinnati and Columbus. All will now receive the lightning fast 4G service that delivers 5Mbps to 7Mbps download speeds earlier than expected. It has also been said that San Francisco will get its service from Sprint and Clearwire on December 28th, which takes the state count now up to 68 with a $10 surcharge in place if you wish to take advantage of the service.

Sprint looks like it wants to get its service out there to as many users as possible, before its big rival Verizon Wireless can launch its super fast LTE 4G network in December. You can watch Verizon’s ad for the LTE network as we have embedded it for you below with great thanks again to Engadget. Is Sprint’s 4G network available in your state? If so tell us how you think it will stack up against Verizon’s LTE.
