Sharp Galapagos Tablet Devices: Price An Issue

As we reported to you towards the end of September, Sharp had been planning to release a couple of tablet pc’s which would be named ‘Galapagos’. Well now they are on their way and will be available in December.

The devices are made by Kin were being looked at as a possible iPad competitor but I think these devices are going to be different. I don’t see this as a competitor for Apple as there has been so much emphasis on the fact that this is an e-reader.

The devices will be coming in various sizes including a larger model that boasts 10.8” screen with a resolution of 1366×800. Pretty good screen but how affordable will there e-readers be? According to Mashable.com’s Vlad Savov not very… Vlad has said that there will be different pricing for each model and one of them comes in at around $653. My verdict… bit too pricey for an e-reader. What do you think? Are these devices coming in too expensive? Let me know your thoughts in the comments below.
