NASA: Most social media and Web savvy entity

In a world where social media is growing in popularity, large organisations use the wave of social interaction to connect with a vast audience. In a report recently carried out by George Washington University and New York University, it was shown that space organisation “NASA” was deemed to be at the top of it’s social game out of 100 investigated.

According to The Washington Post, when looking at the 100 organisations, various key elements were taken into consideration including that of their web page, internet and mobile marketing ideas and how highly they scored in popularity on social networking sites such as Twitter and Facebook. In a statement from the business school located at the George Washington University, the Dean said, “The public sector space is a perfect way to look at questions of democratization and think through social media and how it’s having an impact on the fundamentals of this country.”

Since September 2009, NASA have managed to outdo huge organisations when looking at social media engagement ,and their Social Media Manager “Stephanie Schierholz” has said, “This gives us another avenue to reach out and engage with people.”
