3G Dell Adamo – Alternative To New MacBook Air

Since the new range of MacBook Air’s were launched there have been many positive reviews written about the updated Apple line. We’ve posted about how the new MacBook Air line is driving Apple’s success and also had a look at a credible alternative to the MacBook Air, the HP Envy 14 laptop.

Now though it seems there’s another contender to compete with the Air as the 3G Dell Adamo could be a real alternative. The Dell Adamo 13 is another ultraslim model and the price has been greatly reduced since its launch last year. With a 128GB solid state drive, 2GB of memory and a 1.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor it comes in at $999 according to an article by Brooke Crothers over on Cnet.

Compare that with the MacBook Air 13.3” version with 128GB solid state drive, 2GB of memory and an Intel 1.86GHz Core 2 Duo processor at $1,299. Although Crothers merits the MacBook Air as an impressive device, he also notes that the Dell Adamo has some notable features such as eSATA and Ethernet connectors, not on the Air. He also gives high praise to the display.

The feature that really stands out though is the integrated 3G availability which gives added performance and convenience when on the move. On ordering and installing a 3G card from Dell, Crothers notes that connection speeds have been outstanding and overall the picture is that the Dell Adamo is a worthy alternative to the MacBook Air.
