Duracell MyGrid Review: Manufacturers Take Note

If you are a big fan of tech and have a house full of the latest gadgets then it is likely you also have a lot of chargers that create a birds nest of chaos when they are all plugged into the power socket at the same time. To combat this, battery maker Duracell has brought out a nifty little innovation that can charge multiple devices at once.

The MyGrid is designed to charge different types of mobile phones such as the iPhone 3GS, Blackberry and Android models and the Palm Pre. The hassle saving charging station can support 4 phones at once and is not exactly wire free as it does require one itself, however saves 3 other wires in the process. The station is available for a very reasonable £20 but does have a flaw that the manufacturers should take a close look at.

The MyGrid requires users to put their phone into a provided case in order for it to charge and this may serve as an inconvenience if your mobile already has a case. For some users this will not be an issue, but for others the constant switching of cases may not be worth the bother. Zath has kindly provided a review of this product and were displeased with the case situation. For people who do not have the typical phones (iPhone, Blackberry and Android), a variety of adapters come with the MyGrid so that you attach the mobile to an additional device which then charges it.

This product overall for £20 looks well worth a buy if you have multiple phones in the household and are sick of the mayhem that takes place when it comes it everyone wanting to charge at the same time. If you want to eliminate the tangle of wires which cause the mess behind the desk then pick up this product. If you dont like the idea of repeatedly having to take your mint condition scratch free smartphone from it’s case then maybe give Duracell’s gadget a miss.
